We believe EVERY guitarist deserves a fine instrument. Our guitar is perfectly balanced, the tone is amazing and it plays like an absolute dream. 47 years ago when Travis picked up his first guitar, he would play a C chord mostly in tune, but the E would just melt your face it was so bad. Like many others, he thought he was the problem. But the problem was a poorly set up, cheaply built guitar. For a guitar lover, that's just sad. We would hate to see a young person give up on a dream and blame themselves because of a bad instrument.

At Travis Franklin Guitars, we believe passionately that you should not have to carry a brand new guitar (on which you just spent a small fortune) to a luthier for a setup and a fret dress...  just so you can tune it and play it. But that's exactly what's required of many builders' new guitars, including some really big names. Really old names.  They may have the history and build a fine guitar, but they sure don't take the time or the effort to finish it. 

We fully vet every guitar, not on a bench for a test tune and a few chords. We play on it for hours.We jam on it. We record it. We tweak and re-check the nut to make sure it's going to stay in tune when you take it out of the case and take it to a gig. We re-check the intonation to make sure it's going to sound it's sweetest. We custom tune it at the 5th, 12th and 17th frets and sympathize a tiny bit when needed so it plays in tune all the way up.

When you take one of our guitars home, you'll do nothing but unleash YOUR tone on this fine instrument, with action as fast and slick as an Italian sports car. You will not want to put it down. Except to admire how good it looks. 

Every piece of wood is hand selected. Every detail is checked, re-checked and put under a magnifying glass. Every choice we make is designed to provide you an experience full of tone, comfort and playability. The fact that it's knockout gorgeous is just a bonus!
